  • The Heavyweight India Experience – Part 5

    Therapy, Thoughts, Thank You.
    Thursday 25th Nov.
The hotel room is in the kind array you might expect, with two days till I leave. Meaning, I’ve taken everything out of the case and tried to sort out where everything that’s returning will fit.
The box of malaria tablets I’ve been taking stands out and reminds me that Friday’s dose (the day I’ll be leaving) is 4 tablets. I’ve been very particular about taking these on time and have (touch wood) no side effects up to this point. I realise that even though I am now about to start my third pack, there are another 4 packs to take on my return to the UK. Happy Days. (more…)

  • The Heavyweight India Experience – Part 4

    Agra, Antics & Airborne
    Sunday 21st Nov

We were up pretty early to see the sites of Agra. We were picked up by our taxi at 0600 and headed straight to the Taj Mahal. In short, this is the most beautiful building I have ever had the privilege of visiting. (more…)

  • The Heavyweight India Experience – Part 3

Delhi, Derhadun & a Divine dook
    Thursday 18th Nov (cont’d)
The flight went without a hitch and at 2245 as I finished my last diary entry the captain announced the decent, stating we would be on the ground at 2300, getting to the stand at 2315.
This was a blow. Factoring in the bus transfer to the terminal we were cutting it close to the wire.
We duly landed and taxi’d round what seemed like the largest airport in the world, coming to a halt at 2315. Another five minutes to get the bus to the terminal and Stu shook his head in resignation.
    “No chance” he said.
As I’ve told my Dad many a time when I have been going for a train, I told Stu to ”Keep the faith”. (more…)

  • The Heavyweight India Experience – Part 2

    Bollywood, ablutions and beyond!

    Monday 15th Nov (cont’d)
I’m up at 0700 local time. (so 2hrs 26 minutes sleep there or there about)
I think I make that about 5 hours sleep since Saturday morning.
    Anyway, I’m certainly not complaining.
Off to breakfast in the hotel. I remember last years experience, meaning this year I’m taking no chances.
I of course refer to the food. (more…)

  • The Heavyweight India Experience – Part 1

    Bathgate, Boxing, Bombay.
    Introduction
This visit took place between the 13th -26th Nov 10.
It was a follow up to last years India trip. Like last years trip, it was undertaken for work purposes but became so much more.
I only realised at the time of arranging this trip, it clashed with the biggest British boxing event for 20 years.
And I just happened to have tickets for it.

  • Whats going on?

I’ll be in touch real soon

    Positive vibes man.
